Research Resources

The Chadwick Library resources provide a ideal place for research and study coupled with a rural environment of minimal distractions.

Postgraduate students in Biblical studies, most aspects of Christian ministry including mission and African theology, or in West Kenya studies among others will find rich sources of material on the shelves.

Archival material on the Butere mission centre (from 1912 on wards) can be made available to bona fide researchers by arrangement.

What we do

A current  research project on An African Christian Response to rituals of death and dying among the different Abaluyia groups is ongoing in conjunction with St. Paul’s University.

The ACK church-run Eshimuli Guest House adjacent to the library provides affordable  accommodation and meals to those wishing to spend several days or more studying and researching in Chadwick Library.
